Because they havent taken the time to update things even to iPhone 5 screen resolutions and certainly not to iPad retina resolutions the database is looking bad on those screens. Never mind the iPhone 6 plus. If you try to create a form on a windows computer (win 8 not listed as a supported system even after all this time) then try to sync, it crashes the app on both the iPhone 6 plus and the iPad Air 2. One would think that they had tested this program against these newer phones and iPads but I dont think they have. The higher resolution screens should be able to allow more data on the screen but its the same as the older versions. My advice, and I have used Handbase for over 10 years now, is to give it a miss till they decide to support the new Apple equipment completely. If you look on their blog you will find that many people have asked for this support, but the questions are basically being ignored. Get this sorted and it will be back to 5 stars.

I have been using this since the days of the Palm Pilot and I love it! I have 20 databases that I use constantly. I have the Windows Desktop, iPad and iPhone apps. Support is FANTASTIC. Brian took me through setting up my new iPhone and iPad step-by-step and responded to my emails immediately. Thanks!

The password app has been priceless. Tracking time is important for billing. Multiple uses. Support Staff is fast and very knowledgable. They went the extra mile to help me transfer data to a new phone.

Ive used this app for at least 4-5 years. Its allowed me to track everything I need for my business. I can track my locations for every new record, presentations, sales, new and existing contacts and more. I love that it allows me to create filters based on my needs, (like if Im looking for a contact between certain dates or if I need to look up an area I worked) I can specify that in a filter and just those will pop up. Of course you can download some existing templates or create your own; I chose to create my own so it fit my needs and I love it! I do think it would be great if HandBase developers would include the ability to add voice recordings!

The possibilities with this app are endless. Very easy to use, lots of templates that already exist and a desktop program that syncs data makes this app invaluable. From medical journal to password keeper to Shopping List, I use this app many times a day. Also, being able to export directly to a CSV or Text file is great when you want to archive a database.

This is the simplest database management system thats out on the market you can create small databases you can create large databases. Security is paramount on the app itself where you can create a very strong password and also keep passwords safe. This is not your ordinary database for things to do our shopping lists this is an intricate database to record any and all important documents.

Restoring an iPhone does not restore databases. Developer recommends buying $30 program By another rather than solve problems. Will not address problem. Finally time to DELETE. After years, there is still is no sync option. Manual WiFi backup is lame. Manual iTunes backup is lame. Not possible to use on more than one device. Nice App, but poor follow through. Lost years of data with device failure and refusal to restore on new device. Almost there doesnt cut it. Moving to a full solution. Bye!

I used HanDBase for the Palm OS for years and really liked it, and the current iOS version is even better and more stable. With the forms builder, its the most versatile app for data collection. Their customer support is also great. Well worth the money.

I’ve been using HandBase since I was a resident in about 2000, starting on the Palm Pilot, and all the way through to the iPhone6 now. I like, it, but the Desktop sync should be built in to the desktop version; as it is, once the demo ran out, I am told to sync my phone I have to buy a Plus version, but the website only offers upgrades to a Windows version, not a Mac version of HanDbase Plus. So kind of stymied now!

I have been using HanDBase since my first Palm IIIxe and have never stopped.It allows you to build simple or complex databases on the iPhone which rival many applications themselves. I have found the app indispensable over the years because of its versatility. They also have great support as well as a large user-base which is friendly and accessible via the forums. There are literally tens of thousands of databases users have posted to be used as is, or tweaked. Ignore the negative reviews, I have never had a problem with this app or desktop program since it was introduced.

Been using for several years and it does great things. Unfortunately it doesnt do the little things. When i create a new dbase and try to assign it to a different category it crashes. It also crashes when i try to rename it so im kinda stuck with whatever i name it and the settings i make when I create it. Next, the button to change the column doesnt respond well and its too difficult to set precisely. Why not add the ability to type in a column width? And whats REALLY frustrating is that when I finally get the columns close to the width i prefer, they disappear as soon as i change to a different view or different dbase. #ItsTheLittleThings

This app hasnt been updated in over a year, and even then, the last few updates were minor bug fixes. Ive been using HanDBase since the Palm V days. Im now worried that they are no longer vested in their product. Many doctors at my hospital have already moved on. Too bad. I will happily rewrite this review if they decide to catch up.

Just one more app that promises efficiency and reliability. It cant handle accdb or acces 2010 database files. I have a database which I would like to communicate with the phone. Just one more dissappointment. I guess it does provide support if you buy a $35 dollar desktop client. No thanks.

Its actually great DB. And they made the only confusing part (1-to-1, 1-to-many and many-to-1). Now I can consistently make it work. The bug is that our cannot use the uniquick field to look up. However my BIGGEST complain still: no UNICODE support!!! You know: not everybody prefer English. There are other languages as well. UPDATE: So much time passed, but STILL NO UNCODE!!!

HanDBase text fields allow carriage returns which are handy for showing text as a list in one field. However, if you ever want to export in CSV format to a spreadsheet, the CR will go out as a comma (or the spreadsheet will interpret the CR as a field delimiter) So the spreadsheet will create a new line for each CR. So vertical lists in one text field are not possible. I give HanDBase 5 stars anyway as it is a great app on my old iPhone 4!

This was once a great app, developer gave up on it and has not updated in years, on latest iOS crashes all the time, and no fix in site. Just export and then move on, as know-one is on the other end of the line to fix problems. What a shame to see a great app get lost to neglect. Old Review: Great App, hand it on PalmOS ... and using since it come out on both the iPad and iPhone... would be better if you guys add iCloud Support for Database files, so can share the databases on all iOS devices with HanDBase.
